For a holiday celebration with loads of craft beers and 0 aunts asking if you’re dating someone yet, hit Get Real Bar Fest: all-you-can-drink crafts & artisanal plates from the city’s finest alehouses*, for a single beery afternoon on Saturday, December 10th. Your pass gets you an endless supply of suds curated by the festival’s pro beer-sommelier, starting with the kinda-familiar like Kelso Nut Brown & Flying Dog Raging Bitch, then getting more wide-reaching/obscure, from hyper-limited releases like Lagunitas Doppel Weizen, to Baladin Nora: an Egyptian-style ale crafted with frankincense & myrrh in Italy, so Jesus Christ, you know it’ll be good.
But EFF YEAH, there’s food, too!: Get Real’s tapped 8 of its favorite NYC taverns* to serve unlimited bar bites (many of which’re made with the beers!), such as brew-braised wild boar on a rosemary pancake from Rattle ‘N Hum, and veal/pork belly meatballs from Alewife Queens. A general admission pass ($35) lands you all that for 3hrs (either 1-4p, or 7-10p); or, spring for a VIP pass ($45) to access an exclusive sommelier pairing session an hour before the crowds for each timeslot, meaning that after all's said & done, you’ll be ready to say “uncle”.
